Different "Types" of College fashion

When I first came to college, I didn’t know what to expect when it came down to what to wear to class. What do normal college girls wear? Do they look cute everyday or do they wear sweatpants all the time? I didn’t want to be the odd one out as a freshman in college, so I dressed as I would in high school until I really got to know what other college students wear. After two years here at Ball State, I can tell you that in college, people really don’t care what you (or themselves, sometimes) are wearing. Since this discovery doesn’t necessarily help me narrow down different “types” of college fashion, I’ll describe to you what my four different types of clothing choices include: comfy, cute, formal, and business. And since I am an avid college-goer, I believe these “types” are prominent on any campus.
Comfy
My comfy clothing mainly consists of sweatshirts, T-shirts, sweatpants, leggings, running shorts, and tennis shoes. As you can guess, I feel very free and relaxed in this type of clothing – nothing is holding me back, except for my inflexible joints. This fashion type generally occurs when I stayed up too late the night before or simply am too lazy to put much thought into my clothing.

Cute
My idea of cute clothing consists of jeans, jean shorts, a nice shirt, a sweater, and nice shoes. This type of fashion is usually pretty comfortable for me as well since I wore it almost everyday in high school. I mostly where these clothing items when I wake up in the morning feeling refreshed and ready to go or if I know I have an activity to attend later in the day.

Formal
Formal, for me, is a very rare occasion. This is when I wear a dress, skirt, romper, jumpsuit, heels, and flats. I do not wear these items often because I feel like I would stand out more than I wanted to in them. I love wearing them, but I like to wear these outfits for special occasions, which is not class. However, there are many girls who wear this type of fashion to class.
Business
My final type of fashion is more of a consequence of my major more than a type of fashion I would generally wear. Nonetheless, it is an important part of my closet and I occasionally have to wear it to class for presentations. Business clothing consists of different items based on how professional you wish to look, but it basically includes: khakis, suits, conservative skirts, blouses, heels, and flats.
My “types” of fashion are personal to me; however, I hope that if you are a struggling freshman, scrambling to figure out what to wear/buy for college, I can alleviate some stress when I say other college students will not judge you for whatever you wear.
