My Favorite Jewelry Artists

In my latest video, I talked about local, hand-made jewelry and clothing items that I have bought. I explained how I recently got into buying these locally made products as well as the reasons why it’s good to buy from these artists rather than a large corporate company (usually cheaper, money goes to someone who uses it for living expenses rather than luxury items, etc.). In my video, I also highlighted the artists I have bought from. I’d like to further highlight those artists and their products here in this post to support them as well as some other artists that I think are great.

Catherine is one of my favorite artists as of lately. I really enjoyed the first product I bought from her. She’s great to buy from because she is very nice and offers multiple ways of payment and delivery. You can pay in cash, Venmo, Cash App, and PayPal, and she can ship if necessary or meet in person if you live in or close to Muncie. She doesn’t have her own website set up, so she mainly makes sales through direct messages on her social medias. Since she is in college (#chirpchirp) you can expect that the money she makes from you will be going to her college or living expenses. Catherine also does customs, which is great for gifts during the holidays! One of the main reasons I enjoy her creations is because she does simple wire wraps with beautiful stones that she tells you the meaning behind in the captions of her post. I think it’s cool to know that meaning, even if you don’t necessarily believe it will bring you what it is supposed to. Below are some of her most recent creations:

I talked about Bug Girl in my video as well, but I have only bought T-shirts form her. She makes really pretty jewelry, too; however, she has become pretty popular, so when she makes updates to her website, all of her products go super quickly. Her products truly are one of a kind, and she does not make customs (she thinks customs block her creativity). She makes her art with resin so she can trap the flowers or bugs that she puts inside (cruelty-free, of course). I really enjoy Bug Girl because she puts a lot of work into her creations, and she explicitly lets people know that the money she makes through her little company is going toward her college expenses. Here are some her creations:

Carlyn is my most recent find of jewelry artists via Twitter. She currently does not have an Instagram and makes her sales through her website. While the other two artists I’ve mentioned have been local (to me, at least), Carlyn is actually from Arizona. She mostly makes fluid art jewelry rather than art with stones or resin. I have not yet bought from her, but I have come very close to it! I had a necklace in my cart to buy, but then decided against it because I couldn’t decide which one I actually wanted. I imagine I will buy from her in the near future because I really like fluid art. Carlyn’s website explains that she is married with children and looking for her dream home, so you can see exactly what your money is going toward. Below are some of my potential buys from her:

I hope if you can take away one thing from this post, it’s that buying from small businesses or individual creators means your money is going to a good place. If you can take away more from this post, it’d be to look into hand-made jewelry artists near you (or not because there’s this thing called shipping) that you could support their art and wear some nice jewelry in the process!
