You Got A Friend in Me

When I first started my fashion journey, I did not know where to begin. There are so many websites and people with different opinions I was flustered. I ultimately relied on the friends around me to assist in building my fashion look. With their help I was able to find something that works for me. Through this experience I realized it is important to have a support group around you during the fashion journey.

It is easy to get overwhelmed by the vast amount of information available on the internet, especially about fashion. A person could spend their entire lifetimes reading about different trends and outfits. There is certainly a lot of valuable information and advice about fashion on the internet, but where should you begin? What I did is sit down with my friends and discuss what I want. It seems simple but remember this is about how you want to look. It is great to take a step back and reflect on your desires no matter what you are doing. A lot of people get caught up in what others think about their fashion, yet what others think is less important than how you feel about your look.

Once you figure out an idea of what you want, now you can visit websites tailored to what you are looking for. By doing this, the large amount of information and sources of it can be narrowed down to what is meaningful. For example, I would no longer have to read about tank tops after deciding they would not be a part of my image. There will still be a lot of information after narrowing your view, but it will be much less overwhelming.

Searching on the internet was the easiest starting point because it is usually the first-place people go when they have a question. However, it did not contain all the information I wanted. Once again, I turned back to my friends to gain some first-hand experience of what they did. You can find some personal stories on the internet, but many are just stories. At the end of the day, it is great to receive knowledge and advice in person.

My friends were imperative in my fashion journey because they understood who I was and what I wanted. The internet is not a human who can relate and connect to a person, except in maybe those creepy horror movies. So, the internet can certainly be utilized as a resource during a fashion journey, but it best to look internally and to people close to you to find the final answers.
